Try-It Tuesday: KINGMAKER Rise to the Throne

KINGMAKER: RISE TO THE THRONE is another single-player puzzle game by Artifex Mundi. I tried the free PlayStation 4 demo this week. The game is also available on PC, Xbox and mobile.

Usually, games by this developer feature female protagonists, but KINGMAKER is about two knights, Edmund and Randall Ulmer, who are framed for the murder of the king. The brothers must restore the honor of the Ulmer family and find the real killers.

The medieval-themed puzzles were fun and interesting but the demo lasted less than half an hour. Some reviewers on Steam said that the entire game took them less than two hours to complete. By comparison, other Artifex Mundi games have had hour-long demos and four to six hours of full gameplay. So, I don’t know if I’ll pay full price for KINGMAKER but will wait and see if it goes on sale.

KINGMAKER is rated “T” for teens, due to some violence, blood, and use of alcohol.
