I will be attending Bull Spec magazine’s “NC Speculative Fiction Night #3″ 7:30 – 9pm this Friday at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh for the launch of BULL SPEC #5. Featured guests will be J M McDermott, David Halperin, Jay Requard, Ada Milenkovic Brown, Natania Barron and Jaym Gates.
I’m looking forward to getting a signed copy of JOURNAL OF A UFO INVESTIGATOR from Professor Halperin. I met him, as well as Bull Spec editor Sam Montgomery-Blinn, at NASFIC last year and they were both just the nicest, most gracious and sweetest men ever.
I also can’t wait to meet Richard Dansky, whose novel FIREFLY RAIN is the most beautifully written story I’ve ever read from a living writer. I don’t usually read supernatural suspense, but I was completely captivated by the first few pages. I would have read it all in one sitting, but I’d started it later in the evening and had to stop to sleep… which I almost couldn’t do because I was so creeped out. o_O
